A P950-million STI Academic Center is set to open in Alabang, Muntinlupa City next year as the Eusebio Tanco-run STI Education System Holdings Inc. kicked off the its construction this week.
STI told the stock exchange on Thursday that a groundbreaking ceremony was held last Tuesday to signal the start of the development in the South Park District.
The new eight-story facility will rise on a 3,266-square-meter property. Once complete, the campus can accommodate up to 10,000 senior high school and college students.
“For years, we have been expanding and improving our facilities to keep up with the demands and challenges of the modern world. This new campus in Alabang reflects our commitment to creating a conducive learning environment that empowers students with relevant skills, knowledge, and character,” said STI president and COO Peter K. Fernandez.
The new campus will feature modern facilities, including air-conditioned classrooms with flat-screen TVs, industry-grade laboratories, internet-connected student activity centers, and recreational spaces like a basketball court.
It will offer senior high school programs and bachelor’s degrees in Information Technology, Business & Management, Hospitality Management, and Tourism Management.
STI has been a provider of senior high school education since before the full implementation of the K-12 program in 2016. It has also adopted an outcome-based education curriculum to equip students with skills for a globalized workforce.
STI Academic Center Alabang joins a growing network of STI campuses nationwide, including those in Legazpi, Pasay-EDSA, Sta. Mesa, San Jose Del Monte, Lipa, Batangas City, Las Piñas, Calamba, Cubao, Lucena, Caloocan, Ortigas-Cainta, Novaliches, Fairview, Naga and Global City.
