An alleged member of a notorious criminal group in Malabon City faces a new warrant of arrest, nearly three months after he was first apprehended.
PSSG Honeybelle Data, an investigator from the Northern Police District - District Special Operations Unit (NPD-DSOU), said that the suspect, identified as alias “Ed,” was initially arrested in Orani, Bataan last November 2024.
“Our suspect was arrested last November 2024 in Bataan due to charges to RA 9165, or illegal drugs,”
Data added that the suspect is a member of Salibio Criminal Group, a local syndicate that is involved in robbery, illegal drugs, and gun for hire.
Members of the DSOU, Northern District Intelligence Team-Regional Intelligence Unit NCR (NDIT-RIU NCR), and Orani Police Station served the warrant against “Ed” last Monday.
The investigator added that he is facing lawsuits for Article 302 in the Revised Penal Code or the Robbery in an Uninhabited Place or Private Building, and Article 308, or Theft, which was issued by the Municipal Trial Court in Malabon City last March 2022, in which bail was set at P36,000 and P6,000, respectively.
“We cannot identify the events that led to the theft and robbery charges. Usually, in those cases, the complainants directly approach the court or the prosecutor, that’s why the information is not disclosed anymore to the police,” Data continued.
The accused is currently under the custody of BJMP Orani in Bataan, as they await the return of the warrant that will notify the issuing court.
