AC, 25 Phl firms among Asia’s best

The ranking was based on a formula of revenue growth, employee satisfaction surveys and rigorous environmental, social and corporate governance data

Ayala Corp. led 26 local companies that made it to the 500 of the Asia-Pacific’s best companies by TIME and data gathering and visualization platform Statista.

TIME said in the Asia-Pacific Best Companies of 2025 report that while much of the world was mired in geopolitical uncertainty during 2024, businesses across the Asia-Pacific enjoyed an upbeat year, with most major bourses ending in positive territory on the back of central banks easing monetary policy as well as artificial intelligence (AI) boom lifting tech stocks.

The list showed Ayala Corp. landed 46th with a grade of 91.71 and a sustainability rank of 269th and 22nd in employee satisfaction; San Miguel Corp. at 85th, with 89.74 score, sustainability at 384th and employee satisfaction, 56th; Security Bank Corp. scoring 89.6, 233rd for sustainability and second for employee satisfaction; SM Investments, 109th; with a sustainability rank of 289th and 185th for employee satisfaction; BDO Unibank at 112th with a score of 88.61, 370th for sustainability and 38th for employee satisfaction; Jollibee Foods Corp. at 116th with a score of 88.43 and 368th for sustainability and 86th for employee satisfaction; SM Prime Holdings at 121st with a score of 88.09, at 305th for sustainability and 218th for employee satisfaction; Aboitiz Group at 188th with a score of 85.69, 367th for sustainability and 253rd for employee satisfaction; Robinsons Retail holdings at 211th with a score of 85, 377th for sustainability and 142nd for employee satisfaction; Petron at 216th with a score of 84.74, 378th for sustainability and 457th for employee satisfaction; China Bank PH at 238th with a score of 83.78, 405th for sustainability and 170th for employee satisfaction; Alliance Global at 245th with a score of 83.57, 446th for sustainability and 47th for employee satisfaction; PLDT at 280th with a score of 81.7, 260th for sustainability and 184th for employee satisfaction; Metropolitan Bank and Trust Co. at 311th with a score of 79.99, 475th for sustainability and 50th for employee satisfaction.
