Actress Sam Pinto shared an update on her husband, basketball player Anthony Semerad, after he was hospitalized during their family vacation in Japan.
This was after Pinto revealed that their ordeal began on their second day in Japan, 5 February. Semerad’s symptoms persisted, prompting them to call a doctor on 7 February. While COVID-19 and influenza were ruled out, his condition continued to worsen despite being given medication.
By Sunday, the situation escalated, and they decided to call an ambulance. Semerad was admitted to a hospital, where he received treatment for headaches and nausea. However, he was later discharged and advised to rest at their hotel.
Pinto clarified that her husband had contracted dengue in Manila before their trip. His health remained a concern as they waited for further medical evaluations.
"Update: He's better. But it's a holiday here in Japan, so hospitals are closed again. He will take another blood test tomorrow. Hopefully, his platelets will go up," Pinto wrote in an Instagram story.
Despite the health scare, Pinto tried to make the most of their trip, sharing a snap of herself skiing with their daughter. "Went to the snow while Uncle David is taking care of Papa," she captioned the post.
Fans and friends have since sent their well wishes, hoping for Semerad’s speedy recovery.
