Quezon City councilor and actor Alfred Vargas caused a stir on social media after mouthing scatty remarks against his political rivals during a sortie.
Obviously disgusted, talent manager and blogger Ogie Diaz reposted a video uploaded on the Kilusan Kontra Korapsiyon Facebook page where Vargas assaulted leaders of his political opponents.
“Matikas, ‘di ba? ‘Yan ang gusto natin kasi kami, halimbawa, kami ni Congressman PM (PM Vargas, his brother), kapag namimili kami, pinipili namin ‘yung mga magaganda’t guwapo (Elegant, right? That’s what we like because we, for example, me and Cong. PM, when we choose, we chose those who are beautiful and handsome),” Vargas said.
Then he took a not-so-subtle swipe at the leaders of his political rivals.
“Kasi kung titingnan ninyo, ‘yung mga nakukukuhang leaders ng mga kalaban namin mga mukhang addict (Because if you look at it, the leaders that our enemies get look like addicts),” he said.
“Hindi, totoo, ‘di ba? Saka may mga utang. Mga nangungutang saka ‘di nagbabayad (No, it’s true, right? And they have debts. They make debts and then they don’t pay),” he added.
Continuing his tirade, he said: “Kaya sa tingin ko colonel marami kayong ikukulong na mga adik (I think colonel you will jail so many addicts).”
Reacting to the video, Diaz said: “Baka gustong linawin ito ni Alfred Vargas. Puro nega ang comment sa kanya. Bakit dumating na raw siya sa ganitong point ng pamumulitika (Alfred Vargas might want to clarify this. Comments against him were all negative. Why did he reach this point in politicking)?”
Netizens bashed Vargas for his uncalled-for statements.
“Grabeng pag uugali yan. Sayo pa talaga maririnig ng mga tao/kabataan yang word na adik Alfred Vargas! Naturingan kang leader tapos ganyan inaasal mo! No to Vargas! (What an attitude. It was from you that the people/youth would hear the word addict Alfred vargas!! You were like a leader and then you behaved like that),” one netizen wailed.
“Tapos gustong irespeto natin? Pano, e wala syang respeto sa iba!. (And then he wants us to respect him? How, when he has no respect to others),” another said.
Any comment, Mr. Vargas?
Veteran director Jose “Joey” Javier Reyes took to social media to praised Maris Racal and Anthony Jennings’ performance in Incognito.
“Regardless of what you think or feel about their personal choices, there is no denying whatsoever... that these two are samples of the BEST YOUNG ACTORS in our local entertainment universe today,” he said in a post.
This observation was shared by fans who lap up at their natural acting skills.
“They act naturally grabe goosebump ang cast ng Incognito.”
“Totally agree with direk Joey Javier Reyes. 100 percent.”
“Hindi mo tlga maitatanggi na magaling sila lalo si Anthony kht baguhan lang siya (You cannot deny that they’re good more so Anthony even though he’s a newbie).”
Jak Roberto and Jackie Gonzaga are unwittingly creating a buzz on social media after the Kapuso actor shared a video of him and It’s Showtime host while dancing.
In the dance video, the two were dancing to Earth, Wind & Fire’s “The Groove” which garnered thousands of views.
“Ilang takes to @jackiegirlg,” Roberto wrote in his caption on Instagram.
“Let’s go! @Jackie Gonzaga. Puwede na mag-prod! Hahaha,” Roberto wrote on his TikTok page.
The short clip had more than 130,000 views on Instagram and more than 30,000 on TikTok.
Fans went giddy when Roberto and Gonzaga exchanged witty hugot lines in the Sexy Babe segment of It’s Showtime where the former was a celebrity judge.
“Jak, para kang buwan,” Gonzaga told the Kapuso actor.
“Bakit? (Why),” he asked.
“Kasi kahit madilim ang paligid, noong nakita kita, nagliwanag din (Because even if the surrounding is dark, when I saw you, it brightened),” Gonzaga replied.
Roberto’s witty reply?
“Three months,” he said.
Roberto’s ex-girlfriend Barbie Forteza announced their breakup just last month.
