The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) officially ended its almost two decade-long partnership with Nike last Friday.

In a statement, the SBP opted not to renew its partnership with the American brand as it looks for a new outfitter.

“SBP announces that their partnership with their former official outfitter concluded last year and that the federation will be working with a new partner,” the federation said.

“The SBP has ensured that all Gilas teams will continue to be fully equipped for their upcoming local and international tournaments. Athletes will receive high-quality on-court and off-court apparel, compliant with tournament regulations, to perform at the top level. More details about SBP’s new outfitter will be announced soon.”

Under Nike, Gilas achieved big feats which included three appearances in the FIBA Basketball World Cup in 2014, 2019, and 2023.

The Philippines also won its first Asian Games gold medal in 61 years in Hangzhou, China in 2023 after beating Jordan, 70-60.

The last time Gilas wore Nike jerseys was in the November window of the FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers.

Nike also provided jersey for the women's boys', and girls' national teams.
