Pageant veteran Katrina Dimaranan has confirmed that she will not be joining this year’s edition of Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) 2025.
The announcement comes ahead of the Miss Universe Philippines-Taguig representative’s official appointment this Friday. Dimaranan previously represented the city in her pageant journey.
On Instagram, Dimaranan addressed the speculation and expressed her gratitude to her fans, “As much as I would’ve wanted to answer all of your messages, FB/IG/TikTok comments, and say ‘YES, I AM JOINING, unfortunately, it is not in the cards for me right now.”
She also encouraged her supporters to cheer for the candidates competing in MUPH 2025.
“So mga bes, sorry to disappoint, but no po, your Pambansang Bes will not be joining Miss Universe Philippines this year. Thank you for your sweet messages and endless support — some of you have been with me since 2012! But I am so excited to cheer on my fellow queen sisters as they embark on this life-changing journey," she added.
Dimaranan first entered the Binibining Pilipinas stage in 2012, winning the Binibining Pilipinas Tourism title.
She then competed internationally, finishing as first runner-up in Miss Supranational 2018, where she represented the United States.
In 2021, she made a grand comeback to the local pageant scene and was crowned Miss Universe Philippines Tourism.
Currently, Dimaranan is in the Philippines enjoying her time off. While she won’t be competing this year, fans remain hopeful that she will return to the pageant stage in the future.
