A Pasig City regional court has ordered the transfer of Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy back to the Pasig City Jail by 12 February.

Quiboloy, who was detained on charges of qualified human trafficking and sexual abuse, was hospitalized on 18 January due to difficulty in breathing and was diagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia.

His lawyer, Atty. Israelito Torreon, expressed dissatisfaction with the court’s decision, stating that they would file a motion based on Quiboloy’s medical condition and unique circumstances.

"Medyo hindi kami masyado happy doon, kasi meron kaming iba pong motion ipa-file naman that would be based on his condition and his unique circumstance as a person,” Torreon said.

("We're not really happy about it, because we have another motion to file that would be based on his condition and his unique circumstances as a person.")

Quiboloy, 74, has denied the charges, claiming they were fabricated by disgruntled former members of his religious group.
