San Juan, which has been making heads turn, meets its toughest challenge yet in the 2025 Women’s Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (WMPBL) Invitational at the Enderun Colleges Gym in Taguig City.

Posing as a threat to its winning ways is the Pilipinas Aguilas as they open a heavy triple-header at 4 p.m.

The Lady Knights, led by young head coach CJ Tolentino, have been off to a blazing start in the tournament, which is backed by Manny Pacquiao, Senator Francis Tolentino, and the MPBL Partylist.

San Juan has zoomed to a 2-0 record with smashing wins over the Solar Home Suns, (75-39), on opening day and the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws, (44-37), last Sunday.

Anchoring their defense is former National University standout and Cameroonian student-athlete Annick Edimo Tiky, making San Juan the top defensive team in this league.

Providing firepower are former Ateneo guard LJ Miranda, former University of Santo Tomas playmaker Jhenn Angeles, and former University of the Philippines winger Rei Sanchez.

Though Pilipinas Aguilas is coming off a 72-65 defeat to Philippine Navy, San Juan knows coming into the game with the incorrect mindset will be costly.

Meanwhile, in the nightcap at 8 p.m., the Kalos PH and Go for Gold-backed Lady Sailors eye to maintain their immaculate 3-0 record as they battle powerhouse Discovery Perlas.

In the second game at 6 p.m., the New Zealand-Bluefire Valkyries bid to recover from their 66-55 setback to the Aguilas last Wednesday as they go up against the struggling PSP Lady Gymers.
