President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the 2025 Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) National Tax Campaign on 4 February 2025. He announced that the BIR met its collection target for the first time in 20 years, collecting over P2.85 trillion in 2024 to fund essential infrastructure and public services. The agency has strengthened tax enforcement by digitizing processes, expanding the tax base, and cracking down on fraud — recovering billions of pesos through compliance checks and anti-fraud initiatives.
Marcos highlighted the success of digital tax systems, such as ORUS and Digital TIN IDs, which streamline taxpayer services and reduce corruption risks. He urged Filipinos to continue paying taxes honestly, ensuring that public funds are utilized efficiently to build a prosperous and progressive nation.
Joining the President were Bureau of Internal Revenue Commissioner Romeo D. Lumagui Jr., Pasay City Mayor Imelda Calixto-Rubiano, and Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Chairman George Barcelon.
