Singer and TV host Martin Nievera turned to social media to celebrate a double milestone—his birthday and the 30th anniversary of ABS-CBN’s Sunday variety show, ASAP.
On Instagram, Nievera shared a throwback photo featuring the original ASAP hosts, including Pops Fernandez, Ariel Rivera, and Dayanara Torres, reminiscing about the show’s humble beginnings.
“30 years ago today, ASAP was born! We had no social media, no teleprompters, not even our own studio,” Nievera wrote.
Nievera recalled their early years, filming in Delta Theater, where they shared a single dressing room.
“ASAP has always been and will always be about family. Our Kapamilya started with these four faces, and 30 years later, we have grown bigger and bigger. Together, we have weathered every storm to have survived this long,” he shared.
For Nievera, the show’s anniversary holds even greater significance as it coincides with his birthday.
“The rest, as they say, is history. It is such a special fun fact for me to always celebrate my birthday on the same day as the birthday of my favorite All Star Sunday Afternoon Party! Happy birthday, ASAP! Let’s grow old together,” he added.
As ASAP marks three decades of music, dance, and entertainment, fans continue to celebrate its legacy as one of the longest-running and most beloved Sunday variety shows in the Philippines.
