On Tuesday, 4 February 2025, Department of Agriculture (DA) Assistant Secretaries Arnel De Mesa and Genevieve Guevarra, together with National Food Authority (NFA) Department Manager Roy Untiveros and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Assistant Secretary Agaton Uvero, addressed the media on the newly declared Food Security Emergency on Rice. Held at the DA-PCAF Conference Hall in Quezon City, they announced that under this measure, the NFA will sell its rice buffer stocks to local governments at P33 per kilo, enabling a resale price of P35 per kilo for consumers.
