The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) strongly denied false and unsubstantiated reports circulating on the social media post (Facebook) that Zamboanga International Airport will be temporarily closed for maintenance.
The agency stressed that the airport remains fully operational, and this is fake information.
CAAP clarified that there are no plans to suspend airport operations, even if infrastructure projects, including runway restoration and terminal extension, are presently underway. It is still committed to implementing these improvements with the minimal possible disturbance.
All scheduled repairs and maintenance at Zamboanga International Airport and other CAAP-operated airports will be publicized through their official channels. Travelers and the public are strongly encouraged to rely on CAAP’s official platforms for accurate flight schedules and airport progress updates.
In addition, CAAP actively opposes the spread of misleading information since it causes needless anxiety and interferes with travel arrangements. Spreading unsubstantiated claims is reckless and undermines public trust.
