Ambassador of Japan to the Philippines Endo Kazuya attended the 40th anniversary celebration of the Young Filipino Farmer Leaders Training Program in Japan (YFFLTPJ) on 3 February 2025 at the Department of Agriculture (DA).

The program, run by the Japan Agricultural Exchange Council (JAEC) in partnership with Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) and the DA Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), has trained around 540 young Filipino farmers since its inception.

The event featured testimonials from program graduates and host families, alongside a business networking session to strengthen partnerships between Filipino farmers and Japanese companies in the agriculture sector.

In his speech, Ambassador Endo highlighted the vital role of agriculture in both countries and expressed optimism for future collaborations in business, technology, and human development to deepen Philippines-Japan ties.
