Veteran actor Mon Confiado is set to be part of TBA Studios’ highly anticipated historical biographical film Quezon.
In a recent social media post, Confiado gave fans a glimpse of the project’s story conference, sharing a snap of the film’s script, which immediately sparked excitement among moviegoers.
“Project Q all-star cast table reading, filming soon,” Confiado captioned his post.
Confiado, who previously played Emiilio Aguinaldo in the critically acclaimed films Heneral Luna and Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral, is no stranger to TBA Studios’ Bayaniverse, a cinematic series of Philippine historical films.
Joining Confiado in the project is theater actress and TV host Karylle, who also shared her excitement on social media.
“Excited to work with TBA Studios. Thrilled to meet the cast and the amazing team. More details coming soon,” Karylle wrote in a Facebook post, further fueling anticipation for the film.
The film will chronicle the life of Manuel L. Quezon, a lawyer, soldier, and the first President of the Commonwealth of the Philippines (1935-1944). It will delve into his tumultuous presidential campaign against former president Emilio Aguinaldo and his leadership during a pivotal time in Philippine history.
TBA Studios continues to expand its Bayaniverse with Quezon, following the box office successes of Heneral Luna and Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral.
Filming is scheduled to begin in March 2025, and with an all-star cast and powerhouse director, Jerrold Tarog, the director and co-writer of both films, will return to helm Quezon.
