The Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7) reported on Sunday, 2 February 2025, that it had confiscated illegal drugs valued at P13.4 million during a three-day operation.
The operations, conducted from 27 to 29 January, resulted in the apprehension of 595 drug suspects.
Authorities seized 1,969.78 grams of shabu and 25 grams of marijuana during the anti-drug operations.
In a statement, PRO-7 described the seizures as significant achievements, highlighting their commitment to combating the ongoing problem of illegal drug proliferation in the region.
Beyond drug-related operations, law enforcers conducted 132 operations against illegal gambling, leading to the arrest of 225 individuals.
Additionally, 27 individuals were taken into custody for illegal possession of unregistered firearms. Authorities seized a total of 101 loose firearms and two explosives.
PRO-7 Regional Director, Police Brigadier General Redrico Maranan, emphasized the agency’s dedication to protecting the community through proactive and effective crime-fighting measures.
"The statistics capture the essence of our 'Makabagong Pulis' peace and order operational formula, which reflects a modern and progressive policing approach. Our goal is to transform PRO-7 into a regional office that the Central Visayas community can trust, respect, and depend upon—where every citizen feels protected and valued," Maranan stressed.
