LIMAY, Bataan — In a renewed effort against criminal activities under the leadership of P/Col. Palmer Z. Tria, the Limay police arrested three individuals during a series of operations on Friday night.
Captain Ernesto H. Clemente II, the newly appointed chief of police, reported that one of the suspects, identified as Alias Bert, was apprehended for selling firearms during an entrapment operation. The operation, conducted in Sitio Marsteel, Barangay Alangan, Limay, resulted in the confiscation of two .22 caliber revolvers and ten live .22 caliber ammunition.
“The suspect admitted he was only acting as a middleman, selling the guns because he couldn’t afford food, but this still violates the law,” Clemente said.
In a separate operation, Captain Clemente revealed that Alias Lucas, 38, a resident of Barangay Alangan, and alias Dabu, a construction worker also from the same area, were arrested for illegal drug activities.
Clemente explained that the operation was launched after reports of rampant drug activities in the area. “These two are heavily involved,” he said.
During the buy-bust operation, one of the suspects handed over a small heat-sealed plastic sachet containing suspected shabu in exchange for a marked P1,000 bill. A protective search led to the seizure of two additional small sachets containing suspected shabu.
The total weight of the seized substance was approximately 3 grams, with an estimated street value of P20,400.
The arrested suspects and the confiscated items were brought to the Limay PNP for proper disposition.
