First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos is set to take part in the World Governments Summit in Dubai, expressing both excitement and anticipation as she prepares for the international gathering.

In a social media post, Mrs. Marcos announced discussions have already been in motion on several memoranda of agreement (MoA), particularly regarding the progress of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the Philippines and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

“Excited and a bit nervous when I received the invitation to be part of the World Governments Summit in Dubai 2 weeks from now,” the First Lady said.

“We discussed several MoAs ... including the progress of our Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement to advance the mutual prosperity of both our countries,” she added.

Next month, Dubai will host the highly anticipated World Governments Summit 2025, bringing over 30 heads of state and government together, 400+ ministers and thousands of influential industry leaders, experts and policymakers.

Governance tabled

Running from 11 to 13 February, the summit will also welcome more than 80 international, regional and intergovernmental organizations to engage in critical discussions on the future of governance, global challenges and innovative solutions to address them.

Held under the theme “Shaping Future Governments,” the summit will unite governments, international organizations, thought leaders, and private sector executives from around the world.

Together, they will explore new ways to foster global collaboration and tackle emerging challenges, to inspire and empower the next generation of governments.

Beyond the Dubai summit, the Philippines is also gearing up for its hosting of ASEAN in 2026, with Mrs. Marcos highlighting efforts to ensure the country presents its best in terms of creativity, innovation, and hospitality.

“We’re gearing up for the Philippines’ hosting of ASEAN in 2026! It was a productive meeting thanks to the invaluable input of all our agencies. Can’t wait to showcase the best of Filipino creativity, innovation and hospitality to the world,” the First Lady said.

Mrs. Marcos also shared glimpses of her side, posting a lighthearted moment with her son at a Maroon 5 concert.

“With son #2 who Moves Like Jagger,” she said.
