Preppy vibes and pretty styles

Pauline Joyce Pascual

Think classic pieces reimagined with trendy designs, vibrant pops of color, and a focus on comfy, practical materials. Well, UNIQLO just dropped their 2025 Spring/Summer collab with JW ANDERSON — and it’s giving modern preppy vibes.

Northern Irish designer Jonathan Anderson established JW ANDERSON in 2008. At first an elaborate collection of accessories, the brand quickly evolved to offer ready-to-wear items, attracting attention, and enabling the fledgling label to show on-schedule during the 2008 London Fashion Week season. The success of this debut collection earned both critical acclaim and commercial success for Anderson, whose label is now regarded as one of London’s most innovative and forward-thinking brands.

Commenting on the collection, Anderson said, “This season’s collection focuses on classic items such as oxford shirts, denim jeans, polo shirts and hoodies. Jeans and hoodies especially have been reimagined with particular attention to detail to achieve the most ideal fit.”

A modern take on preppy

Women’s oxford shirts in classic white, blue and striped patterns, and rugger polo shirts in striking pink and yellow colors, feature a short, boxy silhouette.

The Miracle Air blazer, iconic of the preppy look, is made with high-performance materials to be lightweight, stretchy, and quick drying. Another point to note is the accessories, such as bags, socks, and neckties, presented in playful colors.

Balancing design and comfort

Moderately roomy men’s polo shirts, available in a wide variety of 4 types and 13 colors, combine DRY functionality and pique material, so that they can be enjoyed throughout the season.

Men’s chino shorts are lightweight with a relaxed silhouette that is both fun and comfortable to wear. Women’s straight jeans embellished with the JWA logo are made of soft material for comfortable wear.
