Chinabank launches new My CBC App

Chinabank on Thursday launched its new and improved My CBC App, which offers a seamless digital banking experience for its customers.

Among its new features are in-app check deposits, accessible credit card balances, and three security options: Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode.

Chinabank Chief Innovation and Transformation Officer Dr. Jay Sabido said the new app is the continuing story of the 100-year-old bank's transformation.

"It's another major chapter in the transformation of the bank and we are really proud to launch that," Sabido told the press during the launch in Taguig.

"It's a new app because it's built on a new platform, a totally new platform that puts the customers on top of mind," he added.

Like the Wood Snake or the symbolic figure in the Chinese New Year of 2025, the new app offers opportunities for growth, flexibility, agility, and adaptability.

Sabido added that Chinabank also improved its customer experience on the app, placing security at the top of its priorities.

"What the customers see is now we have biometrics, that was one of the comments we had from the previous app. And they actually have a choice between biometrics, password, and we also have a mobile pin or passcode," he explained.

"And then our customers get real-time notifications when they do a financial transaction or for critical non-financial transactions that they do like change password. So it's something that we're very happy with and we continue to maintain the security of our apps," he added.

One of the things that is new about the My CBC App is its simplicity, according to Sabido.

"In the dashboard, it's pretty simple... and you're presented with your accounts, with your credit cards, and you can choose which accounts you can actually view," he explained.

"And then at the bottom are the most used transactions, funds transfers, bill payments, and QRPH payments. So it's really quite simple, we didn't overload it like what other apps did. We really listened to our customers when we launched this app," he added.

Established in 1920, Chinabank has provided essential financial services with the highest level of customer service to many successful entrepreneurs, especially among those from the Filipino Chinese business community.

As the world moves into the digital age, Chinabank emphasized the saying "time is money," noting that many banking tasks no longer need to be done face to face.
