Carlos, Eldrew exchange pleasantries

Brothers Carlos and Eldrew Yulo seem to be getting along pretty well these days.

The two met during the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Awards Night on Monday and they gladly pose for pictures and agreed to be interviewed together.

Apparently, Carlos, the double Olympic gold medalist in Paris, and Eldrew, his vastly-improving younger brother, have been meeting and sharing notes during practices at the MVP Sports Foundation Gym in Intramuros.

Eldrew was one of the recipients of the Tony Siddayao Award, an honor bestowed upon up-and-coming athletes in the country.

He and his older brother, who was named the Athlete of the Year, often talked during breaks in training, suggesting that everything is now going well between them.

“We met a few weeks ago in practice. We would ask how training has been so far,” Yulo said.

“For me, it’s a great feeling that he’s approachable whenever I ask for advice and he even asks me for advice for his routine.”

Carlos said he couldn’t help but be proud of how far his little brother has progressed.

“Based on what I saw in training, he has improved a lot,” he said.

“He’s talented and he has a lot of opportunities ahead of him as long as he continues to train and focus on his goals in life. I’m happy for him as long as he isn’t hurting anyone.”
