Pauline del Rosario closed with a two-under-par 70 to finish in a share of 11th spot in the Indonesia Women’s Open at Damai Indah Golf BSD course on Sunday.

Del Rosario made four birdies against two bogeys to complete 54 holes on 4-under, six shots behind Koreans Hwang Yoona and Cho Jeongmin.

She said she didn’t expect her strong performance since she is coming off a long break. In fact, she played her last tournament in November, putting her at a disadvantage against some of Asia’s best golfers.

“I really didn’t expect much after my long break,” Del Rosario said.

“My last tournament was in November. I’m happy I played well against some of Asia’s top players and it’s a good start to my year.”

Meanwhile, Dottie Ardina appeared headed for a strong finish but settled for joint 20th on 1-under following a 73.

Ardina, who also campaigns in the Epson Tour like Del Rosario, fired a solid two-under par on the front nine. However, a string of bogeys and a birdie-less back nine left her with a closing 215 to forge a tie at 20.

Ardina matched Del Rosario’s earlier rounds of 69 and 73.

Another Filipina who made the cut in Daniella Uy wrapped up her campaign with a 7-under par 75 to finish tied at 58th at 223 in the event that served as a prelude to the ICTSI Philippine Ladies Masters on 12 to 14 February at The Country Club in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

The Philippine Ladies Masters will feature a 132-strong field, including 50 players from the Korean Dream Tour.

Del Rosario, Ardina, Daniella Uy, Princess Superal and Chanelle Avaricio are expected to represent the country.
