₱16.1-M Mega Lotto 6/45 jackpot win changes elderly fruit vendor's life

DT

A fruit vendor and senior citizen shared his journey to winning the 10 January2025 ₱16,186,700 Mega Lotto 6/45 jackpot.

The winning combination, 12-33-32-17-08-11, came to him in a dream where his late wife appeared, giving him the numbers. Inspired by this extraordinary experience, he placed a bet the following day at a nearby lotto outlet.

The winner claimed his prize on 16 January at the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Main Office in Mandaluyong City. Reflecting on his win, he shared how it has brought new hope amid financial struggles. After a failed investment due to spoiled produce left him in debt, he was forced to give up his rented home and work harder to make ends meet.

“Wala po akong ibang nararamdaman ngayon kundi puno ng pasasalamat sa Panginoon at sa inyo PCSO. Napakaraming pagsubok na po ang hinarap ko sa buhay at lahat mabibigat. Hindi ko akalain na magkakaroon pa rin po ako ng pag-asa sa ganitong edad ko po,” he said, expressing gratitude for the life-changing win.

(I feel nothing but gratitude towards God and towards you, PCSO. I've been through so many challenges in life and they've all been heavy. I never would have though that I would be given a chance at my age.)

The winner plans to use his newfound fortune wisely by investing and saving for the future.

The PCSO reminds winners that prizes must be claimed within one year of the draw date. For jackpot prizes, winners are required to present the original signed winning ticket and two valid government-issued IDs at the PCSO Main Office. Under the TRAIN Law, prizes exceeding ₱10,000 are subject to a 20% tax deduction.

Unclaimed prizes are added to the PCSO Charity Fund, which supports charitable programs across the country.

The Mega Lotto 6/45 is drawn every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9:00 PM, with live broadcasts on IBC-13, D8TV, and the PCSO Games Online Hub Facebook page.
