Coffins block traffic on NLEX after rope comes undone

San Fernando, Pampanga — Two coffins blocked traffic on the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Tuesday night after the rope securing them on a closed van came undone.

According to a viral post by Noel Luartes, the coffins took up two lanes on the expressway around 7 PM Luartes, who was driving with his family to Pulilan, slowed down after noticing vehicles in front of him braking. His child said, “May nalaglag, daddy. Mukhang may nalaglag.” (Something fell, daddy. It looks like something fell out.)

When their vehicle arrived at the scene of the incident, they saw the two coffins, and that’s when his child recorded the video.

Reports indicated that the coffins, intended for delivery to Marikina, were new and had fallen from the van when the securing rope broke.
