SAN JUAN, Ilocos Sur—A man was arrested for violating Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition, during a police operation conducted on 17 January in Barangay Lapting, San Juan, Ilocos Sur.
According to a report from the Police Regional Office 1, joint personnel of the San Juan Municipal Police Station, as the lead unit, and the 3rd Mobile Force Platoon of the 1st Ilocos Sur Police Mobile Force Company as a supporting unit, implemented Search Warrant No. 01-2025 issued by Hon. Homerjay Dumlao Ragonjan, Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 24, Cabugao, Ilocos Sur. The operation, which took place between 11:40 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., resulted in the arrest of the suspect, a married, unemployed resident of Barangay Lapting.
During the operation, authorities confiscated a caliber .22 rifle with a scope and serial number 49758, a magazine for the rifle, and an air gun. The suspect and the seized items are now under the custody of the San Juan Municipal Police Station for proper documentation and will be turned over to the issuing court.
