Anti-drug operatives of the Makati City Police busted two individuals and seized P1.4 million worth of illegal drugs inside a posh village in the city.
Reports showed that the Makati City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit and Sub-Station 6 conducted a drug sting operation at around 12 midnight on 17 January at Brgy. Bel-Air, Makati City.
Southern Police District director PBGen. Manuel Javier Abrugena identified the arrested suspects as alias "Lulu," 37 years old, a cryptocurrency investor, and alias "Pinky," 46 years old, a call center agent. Another suspect, alias "Jake," 36 years old, remains at large after eluding arrest during the operation.
A poseur buyer was able to purchase 101 pieces of self-sealing plastic in white, black, and yellow labeled "Pop! Carts," each containing one disposable vape cartridge with suspected marijuana or cannabis oil, with an estimated value of P1,393,000.
The police also recovered the following items from the suspects one piece of a disposable vape containing marijuana/cannabis oil worth P7,500, one black plastic case containing a disposable vape with suspected marijuana/cannabis oil worth P7,500, 0.5 grams of suspected illegal drugs (shabu) worth P3,400, one gram of suspected illegal drugs (ecstasy) valued at P4,250.
The estimated weight and value of the recovered illegal drugs were 0.5 grams of shabu worth P3,400, two 1/2 tablets of ecstasy worth P4,250, and suspected marijuana or cannabis oil worth P1,408,000.
The suspects, along with the seized evidence, were transported to the Makati City Police Station for proper documentation and further legal processing.
Meanwhile, personnel of the Makati CPS are actively pursuing leads to apprehend the remaining suspect. They urge anyone with information on the whereabouts of the at-large suspect to come forward.
