Netflix has released an exciting sneak peek of its upcoming romance drama Melo Movie, just in time to celebrate Valentine's Day with a heartfelt watch!
Set to premiere on 14 February, the series delves into the lives of young adults masking their struggles while pursuing love and dreams despite life’s relentless challenges.
Choi Woo Shik stars as Ko Gyeom, an aspiring actor turned film critic, alongside Park Bo Young as Kim Mu Bee, a former film skeptic turned director. Written by Lee Na Eun (Our Beloved Summer) and directed by Oh Choong Hwan (Big Mouth), the drama promises a poignant and heartwarming narrative.
The newly released poster captures a tender moment between Ko Gyeom and Kim Mu Bee, with warm smiles and complex gazes. The teaser highlights their dynamic, starting with their fateful first meeting, where Kim Mu Bee reveals her ambition to create “an incredible melo movie,” and Ko Gyeom is instantly intrigued.
Upon hearing her name, Ko Gyeom remarks, “I’m a huge movie fan. But your name is literally ‘movie.’” However, Kim Mu Bee remains distant, replying, “Can you not talk to me?”
Despite her initial coldness, the two keep running into each other on set. Ko Gyeom eventually confesses, “I like you. Am I not allowed to like you?” After they share a kiss, Kim Mu Bee surprisingly reveals, “Ko Gyeom disappeared just like that.”
The story takes a dramatic turn as their paths cross again, this time as a film director and a film critic. What follows is a tale of love, heartbreak, and second chances.
Choi Woo Shik is celebrated for his hit dramas A Killer Paradox and Our Beloved Summer, as well as the Oscar-winning movie Parasite. Meanwhile, Park Bo Young is beloved for her roles in the 2017 hit Strong Girl Bong-soon and Daily Dose of Sunshine.
