The Bureau of Immigration (BI) reported on Saturday that another of its raids resulted in the arrest of 32 foreign nationals found to be working in illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) firms.
BI Intelligence Division (BIID) chief Fortunato Manahan Jr. stated that the arrested foreigners were found working in online gaming and scam operations at the Aseana Enclave building in Parañaque City on Friday evening.
Following the monitoring of illegal activities in the building, the Bureau arrested 20 Chinese, 11 Malaysians and a Cambodian.
Manahan added that the operation was conducted in coordination with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
BI Commissioner Atty. Joel Anthony Viado commended the operation, stating that their enhanced campaign against illicit POGOs will continue.
“Let this serve as a warning to foreign nationals who flagrantly carry on with illegal operations despite the president’s ban,” Viado added. “We will not stop until all illegal aliens are arrested and deported.”
As they go through the BI’s deportation process, all 32 foreign nationals will remain under the physical custody of the NBI.
