Davao City – The Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) Prayer Rally held on Monday, 13 January, was peaceful, according to the Davao City Police Office (DCPO).

PCapt. Hazel Tuazon, spokesperson for the DCPO, confirmed the event's peaceful nature during the weekly Davao Peace and Security Forum.

“We can confirm that the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) Prayer Rally was peaceful. There were no untoward incidents despite the huge crowd who attended at the San Pedro Square grounds and its nearby city streets,” Tuazon said.

She also noted that the organizers cooperated well and ensured the safety of attendees.

The DCPO deployed personnel throughout the city to provide security and ensure smooth traffic flow for the event, which lasted from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m.

An estimated 370,000 people attended the rally.

Tuazon added that the DCPO, under acting city director Col. Hansel Marantan, will continue its commitment to ensuring public safety and security for the people of Davao.
