Jean Claude Saclag will not be left behind as he battles Fajar of Indonesia for his second straight win in the flyweight mixed martial arts (MMA) bout at ONE Friday Fights 94 on Friday at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok.
The former Southeast Asian Games gold medalist debuted in style late last year, dominating Lee Jun Young of South Korea in the first round via technical knockout.
The 30-year-old fighter showcased the deadly striking he’s known for, connecting on a variety of punches, front kicks, elbows and knees to make a good account of himself.
But Saclag will not have it easy against the well-rounded Indonesian so he is working with one of the best teams to make sure he comes in well prepared.
Another impressive win for the deadly Filipino striker could get him the $100,000 contract with ONE Championship, where he will join his teammate Carlo Bumina-ang as the next Filipino to graduate from the ONE Friday Fights circuit.
He is also looking to set the tone right for the Benguet-based Team Lakay after a rollercoaster campaign in 2024.
Saclag will get the ball rolling for Mark Sangiao’s stable next week, while Bumina-ang will see action three weeks later at ONE Fight Night 28.
Bumina-ang will take on Song Min Jong in a three-round bantamweight MMA bout on 8 February at the same venue in the Thai capital.
