LAMITAN CITY, Basilan — The Ministry of Public Works-Basilan District Engineering Office (MPW-BDEO) recorded a remarkable completion in the implementation of various infrastructure projects in basilan province last year, placing it second among the nine district engineering offices in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

Basilan District Engineer Kasim A. Hasanin reported yesterday that BDEO has placed second among the nine district engineering offices in the BARMM in completing infrastructure projects.

The district engineer said, “I am very happy after hearing that we placed second in the completion of projects in the district.”

Honestly, I did not expect it, we only worked and did our best in the completion of infrastructure projects,” Hasanin said.

“We are just doing our best last year and we were able to complete over 40 infrastructure projects funded under the regular infrastructure development program of MPW for 2024,” Hasanin said.

When asked why BDEO was able to complete over 40 various infrastructure projects, Hasanin said “Close coordination and monitoring of the projects are the keys to the remarkable number of completed projects in the province.”

Hasanin names some of the completed projects as the Taberlongan Road serves as the gateway to promote scenic coastal destinations in Maluso, Basilan.

The Sangbay Big Road enhances connectivity to educational and coastal zones in Hadji Muhtamad, Basilan.
