Bataan celebrates 268th anniversary

Garcia said that he aims to address past challenges faced last year and improve upon the successes the provincial government has achieved

Balanga City, Bataan — Governor Joet Garcia cited programs that have changed the landscape of the province as Bataan celebrated its 268th founding anniversary last Saturday.

During his State of the Province Address, Garcia cited that the province has vastly improved with the programs and projects that have created inclusion for the private sector.

With the theme “Selebrasyon ng Matatag na Pamilyang Bataeño,” the provincial government has made sure that its programs focus on the Bataeño family.

Garcia said that he aims to address past challenges faced last year and improve upon the successes the provincial government has achieved.

The governor also revealed the various achievements that his administration has accomplished which includes its 7th Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG); 1st highest ratio of locally sourced revenues to total current operating income in 2022 and 2023 and 4th highest locally-sourced revenues in normal terms in 2024 (given by the Bureau of Local Governance Finance).

He added that the province has gained recognitions which include 5th in the top 10 provinces and HUCs in terms of per capita GOP and constant 2018 prices in 2022; No. 10 rank in cities and municipalities competitiveness index; 10 outstanding Local Governance Program for the Bahay Wika; Best Institutionalized Culture and the Arts Program for the Bahay Wika; National Best PESO; Most Outstanding Stakeholders for the Paleng-QR PH plus program and Best Public Service Campaign for the “Kwentuhan Tayo Bataeño.”
