Dina Bonnevie confirms husband DV's passing

Actress Dina Bonnevie confirmed on Tuesday the passing of her husband, Deogracias Victor B. Savellano, also known as “DV.” Savellano was a Department of Agriculture undersecretary and former representative of the first district of Ilocos Sur.

On Instagram, Bonnevie shared the official announcement of her husband’s passing.

Meanwhile, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. expressed his condolences to Savellano's family. He highlighted his dedication as a public servant and his significant contributions to the agricultural sector.

“I am deeply saddened by the passing of Undersecretary Deogracias Victor ‘DV’ Savellano, a true public servant, a dear friend, and someone whose heart always belonged to the people he served,” the President said in a statement.

President Marcos praised Savellano’s tireless efforts as a former governor and representative of Ilocos Sur, as well as his role at the Department of Agriculture.

“DV brought meaningful progress to the province, always guided by his love for Ilocos and its people. He carried that same dedication to his role at the Department of Agriculture, working tirelessly to strengthen our livestock sector and support farmers across the country,” Marcos added.

Ending his message, the President thanked Savellano for his service and expressed his condolences to his loved ones: “DV’s legacy will endure in the lives he touched and in the progress he brought to Ilocos and the nation. Agyaman kami kadagiti amin a naipaday a tulong ken serbisyom apo, DV.”

The remains of DV Savellano will be available for public viewing from 8-11 January at Aeternitas Chapels and Columbarium. 

On 12 January, his body will be transferred to his hometown in Ilocos Sur, where a viewing will be held until 16 January. He will be laid to rest at Cabugao Cemetery on 17 January.
