Kush, a high-grade marijuana, and drug-infused cigarette sticks were recovered from two Caloocan City residents over a drug sting in Bagong Barrio last Tuesday, 7 January.

Members of the Northern Police District - District Drug Enforcement Unit (NPD-DDEU) led the buy-bust operation along Guadalupe Street in Barangay 83, Caloocan City.

The arrested individuals, alias "White," 19, and alias "Mart," 20, are residents of Barangay 83 and Barangay 132, respectively.

According to Police Captain Regie Pobadora, the officer-in-charge of the NPD-DDEU, the poseur-buyer was able to purchase 18 grams of kush which led to the buy-bust operation.

“Kush is like a stronger version of marijuana. Even just by smelling it, you can already feel its strong effect,” the drug enforcement unit head said.

The NPD-DDEU recovered 149 cigarette packs containing suspected cannabidiol (CBD)-infused cigarette sticks.

Pobadora said that one pack contains seven sticks, wherein one stick has a street-value price of P300.

Overall, the estimated value of the contraband recovered sums up to P312,300.

The confiscated drugs were sent to the NPD Forensic Crime Laboratory, where the results may be released within one to two days.

The two suspects will face cases in violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
