DOH monitors 32 new cases of road accidents; firecracker-related deaths now at 3

The Department of Health (DOH) monitored 32 new cases of road accidents on Saturday, bringing the total to 638 cases.

This is 30 percent higher than the same period last year, according to the DOH.

The number of persons who died remained at seven, of which four were involved in motorcycle accidents.

Fivehundred fifty-three were not using safety gears, while 452 were motorycle accidents.

Meanwhile, 117 were under the influence of alcohol.

Firecracker-related deaths up

The number of firecracker-related deaths now at three, after a 19-year-old from Davao del Norte was confirmed dead after getting hit by a stray bullet.

Total case load is now at 771, 27.6 percent higher than the same period last year.

Moreover, the DOH also logged two incidents of one two-year-old and three-year-old swallowing luces.

Majority or 453 of the victims were below 19-years-old.

Meanwhile, kwitis remained the top cause of firecracker-related injuries, followed by 5-star and boga.
