Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic C. Remulla on Thursday welcomed the approval and signing of the P6.32-trillion national budget under Republic Act 12116, also known as the 2025 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
Remulla expressed gratitude on behalf of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and its nine attached agencies to President Ferdinand "Bongbong" R. Marcos Jr. for his support of their mandate to foster excellence in local governance, promote peace and order, and enhance public safety for the development of resilient and inclusive communities.
DILG received the fourth-highest budget allocation at P279.1 billion in the 2025 GAA.
"We assure the President, Congress, and the public of our commitment to utilize our budget responsibly, judiciously, and prudently in support of the administration's agenda for prosperity by fulfilling the needs and aspirations of the Filipino people," Remulla said.
