President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Wednesday called on Filipinos to welcome the new year with renewed hope and optimism.
“As we move forward into 2025, we look ahead with renewed hope and optimism knowing that our experiences will guide us into building a future filled with promise and purpose,” he said.
Marcos urged the public to draw inspiration from the acts of courage, compassion, and bayanihan demonstrated by fellow Filipinos in the past year. He emphasized that these values are crucial in building a better future.
“It is our desire for our citizens to embrace this outlook and adopt an introspective and growth-focused mindset that balances the realities of yesterday and the promises of tomorrow,” Marcos emphasized.
The president also reflected on the challenges Filipinos faced over the past year, particularly the calamities that tested the nation’s resilience. He underscored that acknowledging these moments is essential for progress, as they highlight the extraordinary strength gained through solidarity and perseverance.
Marcos noted that by embracing this spirit, “we fortify the bonds that connect us,” enabling people to “truly rebuild what has been lost and realize a Bagong Pilipinas where dreams flourish and every Filipino thrives.”
“I extend my most heartfelt greetings to Filipinos across the country and around the world as we celebrate the New Year,” he concluded.
