This year, homegrown talent broke boundaries, opening new doors in the music industry. Many artists rose to prominence through sheer hard work and dedication — supported by the fans who believed in their potential.

The P-pop industry thrived like never before, with groups celebrating milestones in new music releases, fan meets, and sold-out concerts. Their rigorous training, packed schedules, and achievements not only captured the hearts of Filipinos but also earned global recognition, firmly establishing P-pop as a rising genre on the international stage.

In 2024, the Philippines showcased to the world that P-pop is a growing powerhouse — and this is just the beginning. Here are the P-pop groups that defined the industry this year:

1. BINI

From distributing flyers to promote themselves to hosting a three-day sold-out concert at a major international venue, BINI's inclusion on this list is a no-brainer.

Dubbed the “Nation’s Girl Group,” BINI has it all—exceptional singing and dancing skills, chart-topping hits, remarkable collaborations, brand partnerships, and bright personalities that endear them to their fandom, Blooms.

In 2024, members Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena gained global recognition, earning international awards that cemented their status as one of P-pop's frontrunners.

Their achievements include a standout performance at KCON 2024 in Los Angeles, prestigious awards like the "Voices of Asia" at the Billboard K Power 100 in Seoul, "Best Breakthrough Artist" at the Brazil BreakTudo Awards, and becoming the first Filipino act to win "Best Asia Act" at the MTV Europe Music Awards.

2. SB19

Just like BINI, SB19's rise to the top of the P-pop industry is nothing short of extraordinary. Members Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin broke barriers in the local music industry and gained global recognition through their talent, and passion for their work, hence, the heartfelt music that continues to inspire many.

From their breakout hit Go Up to chart-toppers like MAPA, SB19 has consistently delivered impactful songs. This year, their accolades included Artist of the Year and Music Video of the Year at the 2024 MYX Music Awards for their collaboration Moonlight with Ian Asher and Terry Zhong.
