City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Eighteen suspects were arrested Friday for allegedly stealing 50,000 liters of diesel in Barangay San Antonio, Guagua Town.

According to a belated report from the Pampanga Police Provincial Office (PPO), the suspects attempted to steal 50,000 liters of diesel worth P2.35 million.

According to the police, they received a call from the ENP Fuel Trading, reporting an abandoned tanker truck with plate number JAO 2872 along Jose Abad Santos Avenue.

The truck had been emptied of its diesel cargo, and the driver remains at large.

Following an investigation and review of CCTV footage, police discovered another tanker truck, plate number NDD 6453, in a fenced vacant lot, actively siphoning diesel in an illegal operation called “patulo.”

The suspects, from provinces such as Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Cavite, Davao City, and Bulacan, were arrested on-site. Authorities also seized five tanker trucks, including the one being used for siphoning, and a multicab carrying 24 containers of gasoline.

All suspects and evidence are now in police custody at the Guagua Municipal Police Station. Charges are being prepared against those involved.

Police Colonel Jay C. Dimaandal, Provincial Director of the Pampanga Police Provincial Office, lauded the swift response of his team, emphasizing that the arrest showcases their dedication to combating property crimes.

“This operation reflects our unwavering commitment to upholding public safety and swiftly addressing criminal activities that threaten livelihoods and businesses in Pampanga,” Dimaandal stated.
