Delos Santos takes 3 silvers

Prince Keil delos Santos picked up three silver medals in the youth men’s 55-kilogram category in the second day of the Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships on Saturday at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Doha, Qatar.

Delos Santos, 17, lifted 110 kgs in the snatch and 132 kgs in the clean-and-jerk for a total lift of 242 kgs to clinch three silver medals.

The Angono, Rizal lifter also submitted his lifts in the junior men’s 55-kg category where he took home three bronze medals.

In the youth women’s 49-kg category, Rosalinda Faustina picked up two bronze medals after pulling off a snatch of 70 kgs and a total lift of 163 kgs.

So far, the Philippines has a 3-8-10 gold-silver-bronze medal tally in this competition.

Aldrin Colonia and Erron Borres so far were the only ones to clinch gold medals after competing in the youth men’s 49-kg category.

Colonia took the gold in the clean-and-jerk after lifting 114 kilograms and another mint after a total lift of 213 kgs while Borres took the gold in the snatch with a lift of 95 kgs

At press time, Jhodie Peralta is competing in both the youth and junior divisions of the women’s 55-kg category.
