Sleigh bells ring, are you listening?
The streets of McKinley Hill lit up on 14 December as the iconic Grand Christmas Parade made a comeback, filling the air with holiday magic.
After its grand return last year, this year’s celebration delivered an even bigger and more dazzling spectacle, proving once again why it’s one of Metro Manila’s most anticipated events.
The Grand Christmas Parade, the only one of its kind in the metro, transformed McKinley Hill into a holiday wonderland. Dubbed the “most romantic mall in the country,” it became the backdrop for a celebration that brought families, friends and visitors together in the spirit of Christmas.
Taking cues from the legendary Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York, McKinley Hill delivered a Filipino twist to the holiday spectacle.
As if you are walking in a winter wonderland with over 15 larger-than-life floats and towering 25-foot character balloons made their way through the streets, accompanied by a colorful cast of 1,000+ street performers who brought the “fa-la-la-la-la” energy to life.
Last year’s parade marked its return after a short hiatus, drawing thousands of attendees who came to soak up the magic. This year was no different, with the crowd buzzing with excitement as the floats rolled in, lights twinkled, and the holiday music filled the air.
While the parade embraced the grandeur of global holiday traditions, it added a distinctly Filipino charm to the festivities. From parols to festive tunes, the event highlighted the warmth and inclusivity of Christmas in the Philippines. The celebration served as a reminder that Christmas here is not just a season — it’s a feeling.
McKinley Hill’s Grand Christmas Parade cements its place as Metro Manila’s premier holiday spot where “all is calm, all is bright.”
Families, couples, and holiday enthusiasts alike left with hearts full of joy and memories to last a lifetime.
