The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and the University of the Philippines (UP) formalized a partnership on Monday for a housing project under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s flagship Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.
DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar and UP President Angelo Jimenez signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) during a ceremony at the DHSUD Central Office, followed by an inspection of the proposed project site in UP Diliman.
Under the agreement, UP has expressed its intent to participate in the 4PH program. DHSUD committed to facilitating the construction of a 4PH building on a UP-designated site to provide housing for qualified faculty and staff.
The DHSUD also pledged to offer end-user interest subsidies for eligible 4PH beneficiaries within UP.
"This MOA solidifies our partneship with UP management toward our common goal of providing decent yet affordable shelters in sustainable communities under President Marcos Jr.'s 4PH, this time for the benefit of UP constituents," Acuzar said.
"Ang pagbubuklod natin ay magsisilbing pundasyon ng ating pinagsanib na hangad para sa ikabubuti ng mga taga-UP...hangad namin na makapagpatayo tayo ng sustainable housing sa loob ng UP, para sa mga taga-UP," he added.
