Tangub regulates calesa, train fares

'Non-Tangubanon residents who are senior citizens, person with disability and students are required to pay fix rate for 20 per rides for adult and P10 for children'

 CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — The city government of Tangub in Misamis Occidental has passed an ordinance regulating the fare of traditional calesa and trains operating exclusively within designated lanes during December festivities in the city.

The ordinance, authored by Councilor Marissa Amamio is in line with the Department of Interior and Local Government order to fix rates for the operation   of public utilities and services and to develop and promote tourism-related activities that foster cultural appreciation and inclusivity.

It said annual December festivities in the city are major cultural and tourism events featuring the renowned Christmas lights attracting local residents and visitors from other regions.

The ordinance provides that train rides for adults and children are free for local residents of the city provided they present valid LGU cards.

The DILG and Department of Tourism has designated special lanes for the traditional train and calesa rides  to tour areas where Christmas lights are displayed.
