The official countdown to the 13th ASEAN Para Games (APG13) kicked off with a vibrant launch event in Bangkok, highlighting Thailand's dedication to hosting the largest and most inclusive edition of the Games. Scheduled for 20–26 January 2026, the Games will take place in Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat), Thailand, under the theme “Create Pride Together.”

The APG13 will feature 20 sports—the largest roster in the event’s history—including para athletics, wheelchair basketball, boccia, and e-sports. The program also includes two demonstration sports, reinforcing Thailand's commitment to promoting para-athlete inclusion and innovation.

The official mascot, Nong Jai Kaeng, a spirited Korat cat, symbolises determination, unity, and camaraderie, embodying the heart of the Games.

Thailand's Tourism and Sports Minister, Surawong Thienthong, emphasized the Games' broader goals: sustainability, inclusivity, and ASEAN unity. Green Games initiatives, such as renewable energy use and resource optimization, will underpin the event's environmental strategy.

APSF President Major General Osoth Bhavilai lauded Thailand's leadership and pledged APSF’s support in delivering an exceptional event, setting benchmarks for future editions. The official mascot, Nong Jai Kaeng—a spirited Korat cat—embodies determination, unity, and camaraderie.

As reported by Inside the Games, this launch marks over 400 days of preparations leading up to APG13, where the ASEAN community will celebrate para-athletes’ achievements and foster a legacy of equality and excellence.
