Spotify just dropped the Wrapped 2024 campaign, and it’s all about celebrating the artists, fans and creators who made this year a certified cultural reset.
This year was different, with trends and moments shaping the music world — from rising stars topping charts to die-hard fandoms repping hard for their faves. Globally, Taylor Swift reigns supreme as Spotify’s 2024 Global Top Artist (again!) with The Weeknd, Bad Bunny, Drake and Billie Eilish rounding out the top five.
Pinoy pride in full swing
In the Philippines, local talent is thriving like never before. Leading the charge is Hev Abi, crowned Spotify Wrapped Philippines’ Top Local Artist of 2024. His tracks are proof that Pinoy hip-hop is unstoppable. He’s joined by P-pop queens BINI at number two, followed by Arthur Nery (third), TJ Monterde (fourth), and Ben&Ben (fifth) — serving us a lineup as diverse as it is iconic.
Pinoys also showed major love for homegrown hits. Topping the charts for Spotify Wrapped Philippines’ Top Songs is “Babaero” by gins&melodies and Hev Abi, with Maki’s “Dilaw” and Dionela’s “sining” featuring Jay R taking the second and third spots. Hev Abi strikes again with “Walang Alam” at fourth, while BINI’s bop “Pantropiko” seals the deal at fifth.
Oh, and Swifties, don’t worry — Taylor Swift also claimed the title of the Philippines’ Top Artist of 2024, followed by Hev Abi, Ariana Grande, BINI, and Bruno Mars. Truly, a vibe.
Podcasts? Filipinos also ate that up. It wasn’t just the music that kept us hooked — Pinoys leaned into their fave podcasts this year. Love stories and horror took center stage with “Barangay Love Stories” and “Dear MOR” stealing the first and third spots, while spooky gems like “Sitio Bangungot” and “Kwentong Takipsilim” landed at second and fourth. For comedy fans, The KoolPals proved they’re the kings of laughs, bagging the title of Top Comedy Podcast of the Year.
Spotify Wrapped is for all your 2024 eras
In addition to revealing users’ top artists, genres, songs, and podcasts, Spotify has added new features, allowing fans to discover how their taste in music evolved throughout the year.
Your Music Evolution showcases one’s music hyperfixations from 2024, letting them discover the musical phases that uniquely defined their year. This will then come to life with Your Music Evolution Playlist, a personalized playlist with tracks that include familiar favorites along with recommendations related to users’ unique musical moments.
Your Top Artist Reimagined transforms how users see the artist that took over their year. This time around, Spotify includes the ‘Longest Listening Streak’ along with the ‘Top Listeners’ feature, which shows users the top % of listeners they belong to.
Your Music Videos Playlist brings Premium users a personalized playlist of music videos from their most-loved artists this year — all in one place.
Listeners can dive deeper into the music that soundtracked the year, with access to Top 100 Songs and Top 20 Artists — which can be added to ‘Your Library’ to enjoy as a playlist.
Fans, regardless of whether they are in a musician’s fandom or a creator’s avid listener, will receive a reward for their loyalty from their favorite artists and podcasters with Artist Clips and Podcaster Clips. This allows the top listeners to hear directly from artists such as Billie Eilish, Sabrina Carpenter, Illest Morena, Ben&Ben, Cup of Joe, SB19, and thousands more.
