Fichtner GmbH & Co. KG expands in Asia-Pacific with Manila office reopening ceremony

Fichtner GmbH & Co. KG recently re-opened their office in Manila, Philippines with an announcement ceremony last 3 December, held at Makati Shangri-La. The event was attended by the German ambassador to the Philippines Dr. Andreas Michael Pfaffernoschke, and more than 30 leaders from the energy sector as well as financial institutions.

The ceremonial reopening marks a significant milestone in Fichtner's commitment to expanding its footprint in the Asia-Pacific region and reinforces its dedication to fostering sustainable growth and innovation within the local market.

“This milestone marks not just the expansion of a distinguished German company but also again the strengthening of the partnership between Philippines and Germany in our shared commitment to sustainability and innovation," said Ambassador Dr. Andreas Pfaffernoschke and expressed his support for the initiative, highlighting the strengthening of bilateral ties between Germany and the Philippines through such ventures.

The event also featured insightful discussions led by key figures from sector leaders, focusing on future collaborations and the role of innovative technologies in shaping the energy landscape in the Philippines. Additionally, financial institution representatives shared their perspectives on fostering sustainable investment and growth in the region.

“As consultants and engineers by heart, we seek for sustainable solutions by means of listening and sharing," said Theophil Laukemann, managing director of Fichtner, highlighting Fichtner’s knowledge exchange approach through fruitful dialogues with the project partners.

During the announcement ceremony, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed between Iloilo Waste Recovery Joint Venture Corporation and Fichtner GmbH & Co. KG for the Owner’s Engineering Services for the Iloilo City Integrated Solid Waste Management Facility. Iloilo Waste Recovery Joint Venture Corporation is owned by MET Power Venture Partners Inc. and the Iloilo Local Government Unit.

Fichtner is a more than 100-year-old engineering and consulting company focused on the energy and infrastructure sectors. Its headquarters is based in Stuttgart, Germany, with a regional office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The re-opened Manila office represents a significant step forward in Fichtner's journey to enhance service delivery, drive operational excellence, and contribute to the sustainable development goals of the Philippines and the Southeast Asia region.
