The Philippine national men’s football team unveiled its 26-man squad for the ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup starting on 12 December.
Bannering the forwards are Jarvey Gayoso of Phnom Penh Crown FC, Bjørn Martin Kristensen of Aalesunds, Patrick Reichelt of Kuala Lumpur City FC, Uriel Dalapo of Davao Aguilas-University of Makati FC, and Dov Cariño and Leo Maquiling of Ateneo de Manila University.
The midfielders are Zico Bailey of New Mexico United, Michael Baldisimo of San Juan Earthquakes, Pocholo Bugas of Angkor Tiger FC, Sandro Reyes of FC Gutersloh, Scott Woods of Muangthong Thailand FC, Javier Mariona of De Anza Force FC, Oskari Kekkonen of Lamphun Warriors FC.
Santi Rublico of Collado Villalba leads the list of defenders for the Philippines along with Amani Aguinaldo of Rayong, Michael Kempter of Rayong FC, Kike Linares of Lamphun Warriors FC, Joshua Merino of the PFF Youth National Team, Christian Rontini of Madara United FC, Paul Tabinas of Vukovar 1991 FC, and Adrian Ugelvik of Levanger FC.
Patrick Deyto of Kaya FC-Iloilo joins the national team as one of the goalkeepers and joins Florencio Badelic Jr. of Cebu FC, Quincy Kameraad of One Taguig FC, and Nicholas Guimares of Funabashi Municipal High School.
The Philippines will start its campaign on 12 December against Myanmar at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium, Laos on 15 December at the New Laos National Stadium in Vientiane, Vietnam on 18 December at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium, and Indonesia on 21 December at the Manahan Stadium in Surakarta.
The Nationals need to finish within the top two of Group B to make it to the semifinals of the competition.
Head coach Albert Capellas said he and the coaching staff will do their best to find the best combination of players for each game in the tournament.
