Sarangani gubernatorial bet passes away

The attack occurred as he was preparing to leave the church compound after attending services

GENERAL SANTOS CITY — After weeks of fighting for his life, Sarangani Province gubernatorial bet, Gladden Lim, passed away in a hospital in the city, Wednesday night.

The news was confirmed by P/Capt.Miguel Angelo Quidilla, chief of police of the General Santos City Police Office.

To recall, Gladden Lim, 48 years old, gubernatorial candidate in Sarangani Province was shot on 23 November night inside the Seventh Day Adventist compound by a lone gunman and sustained two gunshot wounds to the abdomen and body from a .45-caliber pistol. The attack occurred as he was preparing to leave the church compound after attending services.

Initial police reports revealed that the victim, along with his wife, have already confirmed of the possible threats to their lives. Pastor Elmer Romano, director of SDA Public Affairs and Legal Relations, condemned the attack on Lim, and urged the police to solve the case and bring the perpetrators to justice.

On the upcoming midterm elections, Lim is supposed to go toe to toe against incumbent Sarangani Provincial Governor and Partido Federal ng Pilipinas and PDP Laban bet Bong Aquia.
