Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Secretary Conrado M. Estrella III on Thursday reported that he and President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. distributed 9,058 Certificates of Condonation with Release of Mortgage (CoCRoMs) to 6,948 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) covering 10,181.0919 hectares in a ceremony held at Panabo Municipal Gym, Panabo City, Davao del Norte, on 5 December.
Estrella said he and the President also distributed 672 electronic land titles (e-titles) to 465 ARBs under the Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (SPLIT) Project covering 467 hectares in Davao del Norte and Davao del Sur.
He quoted Marcos that the government is continuing its efforts to provide farmers with projects to make their farms productive and stabilize the agricultural sector.
The 144 regular Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOAs) were also distributed to 142 ARBs covering 250.005 hectares across the region.
Elizabeth Ogabang, 55, one of the COCROM recipients from Panabo City, received a CLOA covering 1 hectare condoning her debt amounting to P385,000.00.
From 9,058 COCROMs, Marcos said the distributed a total of 2,337 COCROMs in Davao del Norte involving 2,077.9035 hectares and benefitting 1,731 ARBs condoning P195.744-million loan.
In Davao de Oro, 4,901 COCROMs were issued covering 5,030.7986 hectares benefiting 3,614 ARBs and condoning P256.130 million loan. While in Davao Oriental1,820 COCROMs were issued involving 3,072.3839 hectares benefiting 1,606 ARBs erasing a total of P75.819 million of debts.
Estrella said COCROMs for the provinces of Davao del Sur, Davao Occidental and Davao City are scheduled to be distributed before the end of the year.
