KRM Reinsurance Brokers Philippines has been named the top reinsurer in the Philippines in terms of commissions earned as of 31 December 2023, according to the latest Insurance Commission statistics released on 30 November 2024.
KRM stood out as the only reinsurance broker in the country to surpass P100 million in commission revenue, a milestone never achieved in the industry.
KRM was also one of only three reinsurance brokers to produce over P1 billion in premiums, further solidifying its leadership in the sector.
Beyond industry rankings, KRM earned several prestigious accolades in 2024, including Best Broker and Outstanding Customer Service in the Philippines from Insurance Asia News and Excellence in Workforce Mobility at the HR Excellence Awards.
Its accomplishments reflect KRM’s continued growth as the leading independent reinsurance broker in the Philippines, supported by its global network of reinsurers, a diverse range of solutions, and a world-class team.
As one of Asia’s fastest-growing economies, the Philippines is experiencing a surge in demand for innovative insurance solutions to support infrastructure investments and address risks like natural calamities.
In response, KRM is further strengthening its leadership team to meet these needs and drive its next phase of growth.
Effective 2024, Atty. Isagani Acosta, Jr. has been appointed as the new president and chief executive officer of KRM.
Continued growth seen
Acosta brings over 20 years of experience in insurance and risk management. He previously served as SVP and Head of Risk Management, Corporate, Commercial, Affinity, and Multinational at Marsh Philippines. He is also board director of the company.
Prior to that, Acosta was president of the Association of Insurance Brokers of the Philippines (AIBP).
To support Atty. Acosta in driving growth, leaders with similar multinational experience have also been appointed as part of KRM’s new leadership.
They are Jared Uichico, chief commercial officer (CCO), formerly vice president and head of Partnership Distribution, Corporate Solutions, and Bancassurance Strategy at Manulife Philippines, and Hannelli Oasan, chief financial officer, previously CFO at Pacific Cross and Chubb Philippines.
“I am eager to lead KRM towards continued growth and success. Together, we will embark on a new journey, working with world-class leaders, a talented team, and valued partners to achieve our shared goals,” Acosta said.
To commemorate the remarkable year, KRM hosted a Partners’ Appreciation Night on 5 December 2024, at the Sheraton Manila Hotel, with the theme “Soaring to New Heights.”
Together, we will embark on a new journey, working with world-class leaders, a talented team, and valued partners to achieve our shared goals.
The event brought together over 100 clients, partners, and friends of KRM. KRM chairman Paolo Picazo, who flew in from Hong Kong for the occasion, expressed his gratitude to the KRM team and its partners, highlighting 2024 as an exceptional year of achievements.
He also provided an exciting preview of KRM’s upcoming 30th Anniversary celebrations in 2025.
With these achievements and a new leadership team to accelerate growth, KRM remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering innovative solutions, strengthening partnerships, and driving growth for its clients and the insurance industry.
